Buena Vista University's student media organizations took home 30 awards at the 2018 Iowa College Media Association (ICMA) conference held earlier this month in Des Moines.
Wartburg College student media won 15 awards at the annual Iowa College Media Association conference Feb. 1 in Des Moines.
Iowa State University students participated in the 2018 Southern Agricultural Economics Association (SAEA) undergraduate quiz bowl competition. The event, held February 2-6, 2018 in Jacksonville, Florida, was an excellent way for students to further their economics knowledge and network with professionals from across the country. The group of eight undergraduates attending had a strong showing overall in the tournament of 32 teams.

Iowa State University students serve as Peer Mentors in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences
Over 150 upper class students will be serving as Peer Mentors in the more than 20 Iowa State University Learning Communities with ties to the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) for the 2017-2018 academic year. Mentors help new students in the college make the transition to life at Iowa State. These selected Peer Mentors are often involved with organizing study groups, social events, and out-of-class activities. Sixty-four incoming first-year College of Human Sciences students participated in Orientation at Iowa State University in Ames, June 19-20. As part of the program, students and their families met peers, signed up for classes, became familiar with the campus, and learned tips for making the most of their college careers.
